The "Saving America's Vulnerable Endangered Species Act" (SAVES Act) amends the ESA of 1973 to provide that nonnative species in the U.S. shall not be treated as endangered species or threatened species for purposes of that Act and to enhance opportunities for conservation of nonnative endangered species through cultivation of captive populations by removing redundant regulation imposed by the inclusion of species nonnative to the U.S. on the U.S. endangered species list.

(General Military Law), Part II (Personnel), Chapter 50 (Miscellaneous Command Responsibilities), Section 994 (Military Working Dogs; Veterinary Care for Retired Military Working Dogs) of U.S. Code to further provide for long-term care for any military working dog adopted under Section 2583 (Military Animals; Transfer and Adoption) of this title.

The ‘‘Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act’’ or the ‘‘HEROES Act’’ makes emergency supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2020.  Included in the bill is the ‘‘Wildlife-Borne Disease Prevention Act of 2020’’ which provides measures to address trade of injurious species and species that pose a risk to human health.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service rulemaking seeks to revise current regulations which extend most of the prohibitions for activities involving endangered species to threatened species, in order to align its practice with NOAA Fisheries, so the two agencies are consistent in their application of this provision of the Endangered Species Act.
