Amends Title 1 (General Provisions), Chapter 4 (Holidays & Observances) of the Official Code of Georgia by adding a new section so as to designate a Purebred Dog Day in Georgia.

Amends Title 4 (Animals), Chapter 11 (Animal Protection), Article 1 (General Provisions) of the Code of Georgia by creating a new Section 4-11-15.2 so as to prohibit persons convicted of cruelty to animals after July 1, 2019, from obtaining pet animals.

Proposed Ordinance No. 18-0896 would amend Chapter 34 (Health & Sanitation), Article VI (Rabies & Animal Control) of the Fulton County, GA Code of Ordinances by adding a new Section 213 (Restrictions on the Sale of Animals) to prohibit the retail sale of dogs and cats by pet shops in the County.

Proposed ordinance amends Chapter 18 (Businesses), Article III (Specially Licensed Businesses) of Cherokee County, GA Code of Ordinances by creating a new Division 10 (Pet Shops) to prohibit the retail sale of dogs and cats by pet shops in the unincorporated areas of the county.

Proposed ordinance amends Chapter 10 (Animals) of the Official Code of Cobb County, GA by adding a new Section 10-135 to prohibit the retail of dogs and cats in pet stores.
