Given the international pandemic and PIJAC's commitment to protecting the health and safety of pets and people, the 3rd annual Pet Care Community DC Fly-In was held as a virtual event on September 9, 2020, in conjunction with Pet Week on Capitol Hill.
It is as important as ever for elected officials to hear from the responsible pet care community, so PIJAC created an event enabling pet care professionals to connect with lawmakers and their staff online. A series of virtual meetings – conference calls and/or video chats – took place throughout the day on Wednesday, September 9.
Participants were grouped with others from the same home state or region for meetings with Senatorial and Congressional offices, and provided with materials and messages to share on three timely issues. It was an important and successful event that showed the power of pets and the human side of our community to lawmakers and their staff.
Thank you to everyone who participated in 2020 and we look forward to your participation again in 2021!
