PIJAC and WESPAC Submit New Scientific Information to NOAA/NMFS for 66 Coral Species Proposed for Endangered Species Act Listing

PIJAC and the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council (WESPAC) submitted new scientific information to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) regarding the 66 coral species proposed for listing under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The submissions include previously unpublished distribution and abundance data generated by Dr. JEN “Charlie” Veron, one of the world’s most renowned coral experts.
