From small, local businesses to larger retailers and manufacturers, the U.S. pet industry supported more than 1.3 million U.S. jobs and paid more than $60 billion in salaries, wages, and benefits in 2015 all while advancing the human-animal bond and protecting animal welfare, according to the study.
More on these and other contributions to the United States economy from businesses and employees dedicated to the compassionate care of pets can be found in the study briefing paper.
