PIJAC PRIVACY POLICY

At PIJAC, we respect and protect the privacy of our members and those who use our websites. We want to give you the comfort and confidence you need to fully participate in our online offerings so that we can better serve your needs. This Privacy Policy provides details of our approach to privacy and how we collect, use and protect your personal information. What information does PIJAC collect?
In addition to membership information, PIJAC collects and maintains certain personal information about you when you send us an e-mail or complete any of our online forms, such as when you request information from us, make a donation, request to become a member, respond to surveys, register for meetings, or forward a web page, electronic postcard, electronic ballot, or electronic newsletter. Such information may include your name, mailing address, and e-mail address; it may also include the e-mail addresses of those to whom you forward PIJAC electronic content, and any other information collected in the forms. You may be asked to provide credit card information to become a member of PIJAC, contribute to PIJAC, or purchase certain information or materials from PIJAC.

How does PIJAC protect your information?
We protect the confidentiality of your personal information by using industry-recognized security safeguards, such as firewalls, coupled with carefully developed security procedures that protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration. When we ask for sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, we encrypt it as it is transmitted to us.

PIJAC staff is trained and required to safeguard your information. Using physical, electronic and procedural safeguards, we restrict access to personal information to those employees and agents for business purposes only. Additionally, we use internal and external resources to review the adequacy of our security procedures.

How does PIJAC use information collected?
When we ask you for information, we tell you, or it will be clear, what we need to fulfill your request and how we will use it. We use information for purposes of administering our business activities and providing services. We do not otherwise make your personal information available to anyone outside of PIJAC for any marketing purpose or sell or rent your personal information to third-parties for any other purposes, except in response to subpoenas or for other legal reasons.

Also, we may use the information you voluntarily provide to contact you regarding pet industry issues that we believe may be of interest to you, to keep you updated regarding PIJAC programs, and to invite you to support our programs. We may also send such information to the people whose e-mail addresses you provide when forwarding PIJAC electronic content. When we do so, our sole intent is to enlarge our family of informed advocates and organizational supporters. Every recipient of our electronic communications can quickly and easily "opt out" of future such communications by following the instructions on any electronic communication we send.

PIJAC WEBSITE TERMS OF USE

The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (“PIJAC”) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit corporation incorporated in the District of Columbia that undertakes its activities in accordance with its nonprofit and tax exempt status and all applicable laws.

Copyright. All materials on this website are owned or licensed by PIJAC and are protected under the copyright laws of the United States and under applicable international treaties and conventions. Copyright 2009 PIJAC. All rights reserved. Any reproduction, retransmission, or republication of all or part of any materials on this site is expressly prohibited, except as specifically authorized by PIJAC. Requests for permission to reprint any materials in part or whole must be submitted to PIJAC. Such requests must include a copy of the materials that will be used, and a detailed explanation of where and for what purpose the materials will be used. Contact information, including name, phone number, fax number, and email must also be provided in such requests. PIJAC reserves the right to not allow permission for use of materials on the website if such use is deemed to be inconsistent with the mission and goals of PIJAC.
