Petco CEO Jim Myers to be Keynote at Pet Industry’s 2015 Top2Top Conference

Washington, DC – The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) announced today that Jim Myers, chief executive officer for Petco, a leading national pet specialty retailer, will serve as keynote speaker for the pet industry’s fourth annual Top2Top conference, April 28-30, 2015.

The annual conference, which will be held in Carlsbad, California at the Omni La Costa Resort, brings pet industry executives, entrepreneurs, elected officials, journalists and advocates together to engage in issues affecting the pet industry nationwide.

“I’m delighted to join leaders and colleagues from around the country to discuss the issues and trends currently influencing and affecting the pet industry,” said Myers. “Top2Top is always a great time to interact with others who are just as dedicated to the pets, pet parents and communities we serve every day.”

Since joining Petco in 1990, Myers has been a key leader in guiding and growing Petco from a regional player into a leading national pet specialty retail chain with more than 1,300 locations across the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico. Before joining Petco, Myers held various positions at KPMG and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from John Carroll University in Ohio. He serves on the board of directors for Petco, the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), John Carroll University and Jack in the Box.

“We are honored that Jim will be our keynote speaker at the pet industry’s 2015 Top2Top Conference,” said Ed Sayres, president and CEO of PIJAC.  “Jim’s deep background in business, particularly the breadth of his experience in national retail, will provide an excellent resource for our members and a complement the other workshops and seminars PIJAC is coordinating.”

There are multiple opportunities for companies to sponsor various components of the conference. To take part in this ground-breaking event, please contact Mike Bober or Rebekah Milford for sponsorship opportunities: Mbober@pijac.org, 202-452-1525 x1060 and/or Rebekah@pijac.org, 202-452-1525 x1080.
