(LD 1601) Amends Title 7 (Agriculture & Animals), Part 2 (Marketing, Labeling & Grading), Chapter 103 (Products Controlled), Subchapter 4-A (Feeds), Section 714 (Registration) of Maine Revised Statutes to eliminate the surcharge assessed on each product name of commercial feed that is pet food or that is pet food from a home-based manufacturer by fiscal year 2019-2020.

LD 305 amends Title 12 (Conservation), Chapter 915, Subchapter 15 (Wildlife Importation, Possession, Requirements), Section 12152 (Permit to possess wildlife in captivity) of Maine Revised Statutes to provide that a permit is required to import exotic wildlife into or possess wildlife in the State or to receive exotic wildlife.

(LD 1178) Amends Title 38 (Waters & Navigation), Chapter 20-B (Invasive Aquatic Plants & Nuisance Species Control) of Maine Revised Statutes Annotated to direct the Commissioners of Environmental Protection and Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, in cooperation with the Interagency Task Force on Invasive Aquatic Plants & Nuisance Species, to conduct a study of the State's efforts to prevent the infestation of, to control, to eradicate and to otherwise manage invasive aquatic plants and nuisance species in the waters of the State.

(LD 1451) "An Act To Promote Biosecurity and Better Regulate the Importation, Possession and Use of Aquatic Species," amends Title 12 (Conservation), Subchapter 15 (Wildlife Importation & Possession Permits) of Maine Revised Statutes to prohibit certain fish, amphibians, aquatic invertebrates and aquatic plants from being introduced, imported or possessed by a person in the State unless a permit to do so has been issued by the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Proposed Ordinance No. 2017-07 would amend Chapter 18 (Animals) of the Bar Harbor, ME Town Code by adding a new Article II prohibiting the retail sale of dogs or cats in the town.

Proposed rulemaking to amend CMR 9 (Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Rules), Chapter 7 (Rules for Importation, Possession, Propagation, Rehabilitation, and Exhibition of Wildlife) with the recommendations of the Wildlife Technical Committee (established in 2016), regarding the listing of wildlife species into certain categories.
