PetAlerts

Whether our members need to meet new legal standards, address legislators about a pending bill, or provide PIJAC input on a specific question, it is critical that they be informed in a timely manner about the emergence of such issues and their current status. Ensuring the pet industry receives prompt alerts is a fundamental and critical part of PIJAC's role. PIJAC PetAlerts target affected people within the industry, notifying them of issues, providing analysis and, where appropriate, suggesting recommended action.
A list of active and archived 2009-2010 session PIJAC PetAlerts can be found on our Breaking News page.
PetAlerts are generally distributed to PIJAC members by mail, as well as through email where urgent actions is called for or if members express a preference for this form of delivery. Media reports, Internet rumors, and word-of-mouth often serve to spread news about legislative and other industry concerns. These can appear after the time for action is passed and often include erroneous information. Those in the pet industry count on PIJAC to provide reliable alerts about significant issues. This means information that is timely, and information that is accurate. PIJAC PetAlerts represent a service to members that arms them with the tools necessary to protect the interests of their industry and their business.
