2015 Top2Top to Address Top Issues Facing Pet Industry, Pet-related Businesses

Every year, the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) hosts the Top2Top Conference—an opportunity for pet industry executives, entrepreneurs, elected officials, journalists and advocates to come together, network, and discuss a myriad of issues affecting the pet industry nationwide. This year’s Top2Top Conference theme will be “Leading the Pack,” and will take place at the picturesque Omni La Costa Resort & Spa from April 28-30, 2015 in Carlsbad, CA. PIJAC has successfully secured some of the industry’s most successful business minds to speak about ways to increase your businesses bottom-line and discuss the overall future of the pet industry.

This year, Jim Myers, CEO of Petco, has graciously accepted the Top2Top keynote presentation. “I’m delighted to join leaders and colleagues from around the country to discuss the issues and trends currently influencing and affecting the pet industry,” said Myers. “Top2Top is always a great time to interact with others who are just as dedicated to the pets, pet parents and communities we serve every day.” PIJAC believes that Mr. Myers will provide for an edifying keynote address speaking on his experience as a successful businessman in the pet industry.

Following on the success of last year, PIJAC has invited Nathan Richter, from Wakefield Research—a highly favored speaker from last year’s premiere line-up—back to speak at the 2015 conference. Richter will be presenting on the business trends related to seniors and how to use these market trends to inform and influence your business. Ritcher’s millennial research analysis provided insightful feedback at last year’s event and PIJAC is convinced his research on seniors will be equally beneficial to a variety of audience attendees.

But this year’s conference isn’t just geared at business. Folks can also expect speaker segments designated on reptiles, aquatics, avian and small mammals—all part of PIJAC’s broader coalition of pet supporters. These segments will provide a more in-depth analysis on PIJAC’s diverse member-base.

And yet, PIJAC would be remised if this year’s Top2Top Conference didn’t report on the business pioneering of the internet. According to a research report completed by Forrester Research Inc, by the year 2017, 60% of all retail sales will involve the internet in their overall purchase process— either through a direct e-commerce transaction or part of a shopper’s research using a laptop or mobile device.

With online marketing strategies creating some of the biggest opportunities to reach new audiences, PIJAC will be presenting one session towards the development of technology in the pet industry and ways to increase your sales using cutting-edge tactics. The shift into a more technology-focused marketing approach will prepare Top2Top attendees with some of the most cutting-edge marketing techniques and insights in consumer trends.

According to PIJAC’s last year attendee’s post-survey results, over 94% of Top2Top attendees admitted to having the Top2Top conference meet or exceed their expectations. Additionally, 96.1% of respondents also felt that the annual Top2Top Conference benefitted the pet industry. This year’s event hopes to follow in the prodigiously positive reviews to bring attendees the opportunity to network with top executives and acquire innovative analysis on the pet market trends.

With an overwhelming 92% of last year’s attendees saying they would recommend the Top2Top Conference to someone who has not attended in the past— one things remains clear—Top2Top is shaping up to be another impeccable, dynamic industry event.
